Sensory massage
Sensory massage, or water wave therapy, is defined as a type of activity for the foot consisting of the following three elements:
- Continually varying the pressure loads under the sole of the foot in a process known as pressure diversification
- Stimulation of muscle activity and wide-ranging movements in the foot
- Heightened awareness of posture and balance
The MEDICOVI sensory water-filled massage sole has been developed using advanced medical expertise from the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine (ICMM), University of Copenhagen. ICMM has worked in conjunction with the Centre for Sensory-Motor Interaction, University of Aalborg in Denmark to test the sensory and massaging effect.
